This Wish of Mine

I dedicate this April's National Poetry Month to all the families struggling with the loss of a loved one. Written for a mother and son, applicable for anyone.

Life cut short

For one so young.

Taken away

From a Mother's son.

A heavy heart

You're left to bear.

For one you thought

Would always be there.

I hope this poem

Will ease your pain.

And memories soon

To shine again.

Of a dear, dear son

You loved so fine.

God grant you peace

This wish of mine.
